Loipart, a supplier of food service and laundry systems to the offshore and marine sectors, moves closer to customers in Southeast Asia by opening an office in Singapore.
Until now the company has used Electrolux Singapore as its distributor, which meant sourcing the products for its deliveries from Electrolux Europe and reselling them to Electrolux Singapore.
The new presence in Singapore will change all this. “We’ll take direct charge of sales and marketing, which means we can shorten the lead times to performance,” says Kristian Vidfar, Loipart’s sales director, offshore and merchant vessels. “We’ll also be able to work directly with all yards, ship/offshore owners, consultants, and partners in Southeast Asia, and be in a position to provide our complete systems, including design jobs, commissioning and after-sales services.”
The new office was due to open July 1.
“We have very good cooperation with Electrolux Singapore and we will work closely with them on orders that are already in hand,” Vidfar says. Staff for the new office will be recruited from Electrolux employees working on marine and offshore projects.
Despite the economic downturn, Loipart’s offshore and marine business remains buoyant. New, more efficient appliances, such as the “green and clean” line of dishwashers from Electrolux, which use less water and electricity, also have enhanced the company’s range of environmentally friendly products.

- Catering and laundry systems for NORSOK jackup rigs with hull numbers B300, B301, and B306 at Keppel FELS yard in Singapore
- Laundry systems for hull numbers P2023, P2025, P2027, P2028, and P2029 at PPL Shipyard in Singapore
- Catering and laundry systems for hull numbers 3023 and 3025 for Odfjell Drilling at Daewoo yard in South Korea
- Catering and laundry systems for hull number 1861 for Saipem at Samsung shipyard in South Korea
- Catering and laundry systems for hull number 7075 for Gazflot at Samsung shipyard in South Korea.
- Catering and laundry systems for the GP1-Noble Drillship project, hull number M4001, at STX yard in South Korea.
