BERGEN, Norway — Shearwater GeoServices Holding has committed to the Pelotas Basin multiclient 3D acquisition project offshore Brazil.
This is a continuation of a cooperation with Searcher Seismic. According to Shearwater, the Pelotas Basin attracted strong interest in the recent 4th cycle of the open acreage bid round.
The initial phase will involve acquiring 3,800 sq km of 3D data, rising to 7,000 sq km under a planned extension.
Shearwater and Searcher previously acquired more than 12,500 sq km in the conjugate Orange Basin offshore southwestern Africa. Final products from the four adjacent projects in this basin will become available throughout the year following completion of processing.
