MOSCOW– Rosneft says it delivered an extensive program of offshore geological exploration in the Russian sector last year, far exceeding its license obligations.
The company acquired more than 33,000 km (20,505 mi) of 2D seismic across the Barents, Pechora, Kara, East Siberian, Chukchi, and Laptev seas, and more than 4,000 sq km (1,544 sq mi) of 3D seismic over the Kara and Okhotsk seas.
In addition, Rosneft commissioned 87,000 km (54,059 mi) of aerial gravity magnetic exploration over the East Siberian and Laptev seas, and organized geological expeditions in the West Sakhalin region.
During 2016, the company also put into production three wells at the northern tip of theChayvo field, offshore Sakhalin Island.
