ASKER, Norway -- TGS-NOPEC Geophysical Co., in cooperation with WesternGeco, has completed the Freedom Wide Azimuth (WAZ) 3D seismic project in the Gulf of Mexico. The project covers over 16,600 sq km (6,409 sq mi) in the Mississippi Canyon and Atwater Valley.
The companies are delivering fast track products to customers. Additional imaging work will continue throughout 2010, the companies say.
The WesternGeco WAZ crew is now acquiring the TGS Liberty WAZ project under an extension of the cooperation agreement between TGS and WesternGeco. Liberty extends the contiguous Wide Azimuth data coverage by an additional 3,000 sq km (1,158 sq mi) on the southwest side of the Freedom project.
