TGS begins 3D seismic sweep in UK far north

TGS (TGS:Oslo) has started to acquire 3,210-sq km (1,239-sq mi) of 3D multi-client seismic data over the Erlend basin, west of Shetland.

ASKER, Norwayā€“ TGS (TGS:Oslo) has started to acquire 3,210-sq km (1,239-sq mi) of 3D multi-client seismic data over the Erlend basin, west of Shetland.

This is the first such survey in the area, the company says. It covers open blocks offered under the UKā€™s 27th offshore licensing round.

TGS has chartered theM/V Polarcus Samur for the first phase of acquisition. The remainder will be completed later this year by the M/V Polar Duchess. Processed data should be available in 2Q 2013.
