BRISTOL, UK –Wessex Exploration PLC has completed reprocessing of 1,000 km (621 mi) of 2D seismic data shot by TGS-Nopec in 2006 over the Juan de Nova Est area offshore Madagascar.
Wessex holds 70% interest in the 9,100 sq. km (3,514 sq. mi) block northwest of Madagascar in the northern Morondava basin of the Mozambique Channel.
The company is negotiating terms for reinterpretation of the reprocessed data which it says could lead to a detailed 2D or a focused 3D survey to delineate prospects for 2013 drilling.
