LONDON ā€“ Chariot Oil & Gas Ltd. (AIM: CHAR), in conjunction with its partner, ONHYM (25%), has begun a 1,700-sq-km (656-sq-mi) 3D seismic survey across its areas of interest offshore Morocco.

The company has contractedDolphin Geophysical AS to carry out the 3D seismic program across all three of its Moroccan license areas, using the Sanco Swift vessel. The survey will encompass 1,075 sq km (415 sq mi) in Rabat Deep, 250 sq km (97 sq mi) in Loukos Offshore, and 375 sq km (145 sq mi) in Mohammedia.

The aim of the survey is to enable Chariot to mature drillable prospects in the Mio-Pliocene and Jurassic plays identified on reprocessed legacy 2D data.

The program is anticipated to take six weeks to complete, and fulfils all of the companyā€™s work commitments in each of its Moroccan licenses during their current periods of exploration, including that of the Mohammedia Reconnaissance License.
