VIENNA, Austria – OMV says work has been completed on the largest 3D seismic survey to date in the Black Sea.
The 7,740-sq km (2,988-sq mi) survey was over the1-21 Han-Asparuh block in the Bulgarian sector. Acquisition took 210 days to complete.
A complementary 2,000-km (1,243-mi) 2D campaign was completed last October.
OMV says the interpreted data will assist assessment of drilling locations for two exploration wells planned during 2015-2016. Total will operate the drilling phase.
Water depths over the block extend down to 2,200 m (7,218 ft).
