VIENNA, Austria – OMV says a 3D seismic survey is nearing completion over the Neptun block in the Romanian sector of the Black Sea. Following interpretation of the data, the partners expect to resume exploration drilling toward the end of 2013.

The company plans to spend more on exploration and appraisal generally this year compared with 2012. Its planned high-impact offshore exploration wells will be on the Bonna and Wisting (Central and Main) structures in the Norwegian Barents Sea and on Matuku, offshore New Zealand.

Standout appraisal wells will be Bianchi-1 offshore Australia, and Cambo-5 west of Shetland in UK waters.
