HOUSTON – NEOS GeoSolutions Inc. has completed a neoSCAN study over approximately 20,000 sq km (7,722 sq mi) along the southern Atlantic margin.
As part of this project, NEOS integrated and simultaneously interpreted existing geological and geophysical datasets to map the regional geology and hydrocarbon prospectivity. The legacy geo-datasets that NEOS analyzed included several airborne geophysical measurements as well as sparsely sampled well and seismic information.
NEOS deliverables for the client included: Assessments of basin-scale geologic trends; maps of basin architecture and regional structure; maps of lineaments and regional fault systems, including rift basins and graben structures; 2D and 3D structural and stratigraphic models; maps of basement topography, faulting and composition, and the role these geologic features played in field location and type (gas vs. oil); and maps of relative onshore and offshore prospectivity derived using predictive analytics.
