LEIDSCHENDAM, the Netherlands— Fugro has opened its new geotechnical testing laboratory in Kaohsiung, Taiwan, which will provide site analysis services for the offshore wind farm foundations design and other energy and infrastructure sectors.
It will expand the company’s lab capacity in the Asia-Pacific by 20% and should reduce its testing turnaround times by 30%.
In 2020, the company formed Fugro IOVTEC as a joint venture with IOVTEC Co. to support Taiwan’s offshore wind market. Fugro now has three testing laboratories in the Asia-Pacific region, the others being in Australia and Singapore.
The Taiwan laboratory will be the first accredited to the Taiwan Accreditation Foundation’s ISO 17892 standard, the company added.
