MASSY, France — CGG has started work on a new multiclient 3D PSDM reimaging project for the Tano Basin offshore Côte d’Ivoire, West Africa, in association with Direction Générale des Hydrocarbures (DGH) and state oil company Petroci Holding.
The 6,400-sq-km reimaged seismic dataset, over an area close to the Eni-operated Baleine Field development, is designed to provide fresh insights into the high-potential play. CGG expects to deliver a fast-track volume early next year and to complete the program by year-end 2024.
It will deploy its latest proprietary technologies, including time-lag FWI, QFWI and potentially targeted FWI imaging. The team also will perform a regional interpretation of the project area to improve understanding of the distribution of the basin’s prospective clastic and carbonate plays.
Dechun Lin, executive vice president, Earth Data, said, “The resulting ultra-modern dataset will offer unique access to near-field exploration opportunities, placing IOCs a step ahead in fast-tracking the development of these high-impact prospects.”
