LONDON — Shell UK has confirmed that a geophysical site survey vessel has mobilized to the planned location for the Selene exploration well in the UK southern North Sea.
According to partner Deltic Energy, the vessel will acquire high-resolution 2D seismic lines over the area, with the work set to complete by the end of this month.
The results will support the geotechnical survey in determining the exact location and placement of the rig for drilling.
Deltic Energy CEO Graham Swindells described Selene as a high-impact, low-risk prospect, with drilling scheduled to start in mid-2024.
