NORTH PERTH, Australia  Hartshead Resource says Geoquip Marine is mobilizing for the previously announced geotechnical survey over the Anning and Somerville fields and export pipeline locations in the UK southern North Sea.

The 83-m-long DP2 offshore survey vessel Geoquip Seehorn will support the program, deploying seabed and borehole testing equipment.

Main objectives are to provide the company confirmation of the seabed and sub-seabed soil conditions to support design and installation of the offshore facilities and ensure the safe placement of the jackup drilling rig at the two field locations.

The survey will comprise:

  • One 50-m borehole at the jacket centers and one 30-m borehole at each jackup location leg centroid, with a combination of samples and cone penetration tests
  • Onshore/offshore laboratory testing, in accordance with international standards and procedures (i.e., ISO, ASTM, BSI, NS, ISRM or equivalent).

Hartshead CEO Chris Lewis said, “We are rapidly progressing our Phase 1 development with work across platforms, pipelines, wells and offtake advancing well. With the recent submission of our field development plan, we will now move to progress our environmental statement later this year. The company is very focused on delivering the key milestone of taking FID on Phase 1 later this year.”
