OSLO, Norway— PGS’ contract for a 3D seismic acquisition survey offshore South America has been canceled.
The unnamed client awarded the survey in March. After completing another campaign offshore Namibia, the Ramform Titan was sailing across the Atlantic to the designated survey area when notice of termination came through.
PGS said it was in constructive talks with the client on compensation and/or alternative work for the vessel, the aim being to minimize any financial impact. But the vessel could now be idle for two to three months.
The canceled survey was due to start in late June and complete in August.
