OSLO, Norway — TGS has an agreement with the National Oil Co. of Liberia (NOCAL) to reprocess more than 5,100 sq km of 3D seismic data over blocks 8 and 9 in the offshore Liberia Basin.
A prestack depth migration workflow should optimize imaging of the main targets in the Cretaceous reservoirs, TGS said.
Since June 2021, the Liberia Petroleum Regulatory Authority, in cooperation with NOCAL, has invited direct exploration licensing negotiations for all offshore blocks over the Harper and Liberia basins.
Thirty-three blocks are available with a maximum individual size of 3,500 sq km.
TGS expects to issue final results from the program in second-quarter 2023.
