BERGEN, Norway – Lundin Energy Norway has contracted Shearwater GeoServices to acquire a 4D Ocean Bottom Seismic (OBS) survey over the Edvard Grieg field in the North Sea.
The SW Cook and SW Tasman vessels will conduct the program during this year’s North Sea summer season using Qseabed crews.
It will be Shearwater’s third repeat 4D monitor survey following those performed in 2016, 2018 and 2020.
Per Eivind Dhelie, senior geophysicist at Lundin Energy Norway, said the company used the 4D images of the Edvard Grieg reservoir from those campaigns to optimize infill well locations and to support its efforts to extended plateau production by around five years, with reserves increased by more than 50 MMboe.
