BERGEN, Norway – Beach Energy has contracted Shearwater GeoServices to conduct a 3D seismic survey in the Bass Strait offshore southeast Australia.
The Prion 3D seismic survey is expected to start in late October and last nearly two months.
The Geo Coral will conduct the approximately 890-sq km (344-sq mi) survey.
According to Shearwater, the survey will use an advanced multicomponent sensor streamer system to enable broadband data for use in exploration for natural gas reservoirs.
CEO Irene Waage Basili said: “Shearwater’s global fleet of seismic vessels has enabled a series of projects in Australia, resulting in high utilization with shorter transit time between projects contributing to lower overall emissions.”
