OSLO, Norway – PGS has upgraded old 3D seismic data over the Baúna field in the southwest Santos basin and the surrounding area offshore Brazil.
The revised dataset is now available for bidders assessing blocks for Brazil’s forthcoming Permanent Offer Round.
Rejuvenation of legacy survey BM-S-40 started with field tapes, with PGS applying modern techniques for data conditioning, noise, and multiple suppression to create the new 2,500-sq km (965-sq mi) dataset.
The results can be factored into new model building and imaging workflows to speed up evaluation of opportunities in the area. PGS also produced a high-resolution PSTM over the Baúna field.
