OSLO, Norway PGS has delivered final PSTM products from last year’s Blomidon, South Bank, and Torngat Extension GeoStreamer 3D surveys offshore Newfoundland and Labrador.

Last year the company added 8,500 sq km (3,282 sq mi) to its offshore Newfoundland and Labrador data library with the three surveys.

Blomidon 3D covered 3,526 sq km (1,361 sq mi) offshore eastern Newfoundland. It covers Tertiary and Cretaceous leads on open acreage.

South Bank 3D covered 2,635 sq km (1,017 sq mi) offshore southeastern Newfoundland. It provides the first 3D in an area with a huge Tertiary fan system. Open acreage will be included in the first southeastern Newfoundland call for bids closing in November 2021.

Torngat Extension 3D covered 2,050 sq km (791.5 sq mi) offshore south Labrador. It builds on the existing Torngat 3D survey, over potential oil-prone acreage that is part of the South Labrador call for bids closing in November 2021.

Sriram Arasanipalai, Canada Area Manager at PGS, said: “PGS continues to invest in Canada and we are encouraged by the results of these new programs. This data will help exploration teams de-risk and better understand the areas for upcoming bid rounds.”
