Petrobras commissions two 4D OBN surveys offshore Brazil

Petrobras has contracted Seabed Geosolutions for a baseline 4D ocean bottom node survey and a future 4D monitor OBN survey covering the Sapinhoa shared reservoir in the Santos basin.

LEIDSCHENDAMN, the Netherlands – Petrobras has contracted Seabed Geosolutions for a baseline 4D ocean bottom node (OBN) survey and a future 4D monitor OBN survey covering the Sapinhoa shared reservoir in the Santos basin.
The baseline survey will use the Subsea Viking, equipped with Manta nodes deployed by ROVs, as well as a marine source vessel. The survey is to be acquired in water depths more than 2,200 m (7,218 ft) and is scheduled to start in 2Q 2021. The total combined duration of the two surveys is estimated around eight months.
CEO Stephan Midenet this will be the company’s sixth project in Brazil.
