BERGEN, Norway – Total has contracted Shearwater GeoServices to acquire and process 3D seismic data over two blocks offshore Mauritania.
The SW Empress (ex-Polar Empress) will cover a total area of 6,000 sq km (2,317 sq mi) in a wide-tow Flexisource configuration across blocks C15 and C31.
This will be the largest triple source spread to date, Shearwater claimed. For the fast-track processing the company will employ its Reveal software.
Work on the two-and-a-half-month campaign is expected to start soon.
