ASKER, Norway – TGS has started its Atlantic Margin 20 (AM20) 3D multi-client seismic project offshore northwest Europe.

The Polarcus Adira will acquire the 5,600-sq km (2,162-sq mi) survey over three months, using 12 streamers and five sources, optimized for high lateral resolution recording, and with two 11-km (6.8-mi) streamers for full waveform inversion.

The designated area is over licenses awarded under Norway’s APA19 round in the Norwegian Sea and extends west into open acreage where TGS has identified numerous leads.

TGS expects to make available fast-track data during the fall, with final pre-stack time migration products delivered by 3Q 2021 and final pre-stack depth migration products in April 2022.

CEO Kristian Johansen said oil companies could use the data in exploration decisions relating to the 2020 Norwegian Awards in Pre-defined Areas round.
