OSLO, NorwayPGS says it is working hard to maintain uninterrupted operations while at the same time ensuring the health and safety of employees and other personnel.

The company has adopted preventive measures, and contingency plans, and is managing all activities in close dialogue with clients, authorities, and other stakeholders.

So far, PGS’ seismic vessel operations have proceeded without interruptions. Some logistical challenges caused by travel restrictions and quarantine provisions, which impacted crew changes, have been resolved by cancelling all crew turnarounds since March 18, with all crews continuing on a second full rotation.

These extended crew periods will enter their final phase in the latter part of April, but the company expects to find viable methods for further crew rotations.

Despite the low oil price, the company has not so far suffered contract cancellations. However, since early March the process of concluding contract negotiations has been substantially delayed or resulted in postponement of certain projects.

PGS has decided to cold-stack two of its eight currently operated 3D acquisition vessels during the current quarter, following completion of current projects. It will continue to review further potential capacity adjustments.
