ASKER, Norway – TGS is acquiring a further 1,500 sq km (578 sq mi) of 3D seismic data offshore The Gambia.
This will expand the company’s 3D multi-client library over the MSGBC basin off northwest Africa, which now totals more than 40,000 sq km (15,444 sq mi).
The survey covers blocks A2/A5 where the license holders have identified subsurface structures on-trend with the SNE oil discovery to the north off Senegal.
TGS will reprocess and pre-stack merge the data into the Jaan program, a 29,000-sq km (11,197-sq mi) 3D data-set covering the prospective paleo-shelf edge.
