ASKER, Norway – TGS has started a new 3D broadband seismic survey over the MSGBC basin offshore northwest Africa.
The company is conducting the Senegal Ultra-Deep campaign, covering an area of more than 4,500 sq km (1,737 sq mi), with GeoPartners - using the vessel, BGP Prospector – and with the support of Senegal’s national oil company, Petrosen.
The survey, which will border Jaan, TGS’ existing 3D dataset over the southern portion of the basin, is designed to help clarify emerging plays in the ultra-deep offshore, building on the SNE, FAN, and Yakaar discoveries.
Acquisition should be completed within 60 days. Fasttrack data should be issued four months later, with the full dataset set to be available by August 2020.
