Santos’ Barossa gas-condensate development in the Timor Sea offshore northwest Australia is 77% complete, the company said in a trading update.
FPSO integration and pre-commissioning work at the Seatrium yard in Singapore remains on track, with all 16 topside modules fitted.
Installation of the 262-km gas export pipeline finished in May, with testing completed in June. The third of the six development wells is presently drilling.
Construction work for the Darwin Pipeline Duplication system is also underway with nearshore activities in Darwin harbour.
The moored FPSO buoy and all six infield subsea flowlines are in place, with work continuing on the remaining subsea infrastructure. Santos expects Barossa to deliver first gas during third-quarter 2025.
Elsewhere offshore Western Australia, the company’s 11-well P&A campaign has started on the Mutineer Exeter, Fletcher and Finucane fields, with a contract awarded for removal of the subsea structures.
Nine of the 13 wells for the Harriet campaign have been plugged and abandoned.
Finally, the Campbell offshore platform has been removed.
