OSLO, Norway — BW Energy plans to take FID later this year on two new infill wells at the Golfinho Field in the Espirito Santos Basin offshore Brazil, the company said in a results statement.

The GLF-51 oil well and the GLF-50 gas well should double production from the field in 2027.

At the Maromba Field in the Campos Basin, the company expects to shortly complete a revised development concept that targets peak output of 30,000 to 40,000 bbl/d.

Last month BW Energy paid the final installment of $20 million for the FPSO Polvo, which it has renamed BW Maromba. The vessel is undergoing upgrades at the COSCO yard in China.

FID remains dependent on completion of the project financing.

Offshore Namibia, the company continues work on a revised development plan for a gas-to-power project for the offshore Kudu gas field and is analyzing data from a 3D seismic survey over the area completed in May 2023.

Initial interpretation has improved the depositional model and de-risked potential targets, with further prospects identified. Work continues to secure long-lead equipment for a future exploration program.

Earlier this month, BW Energy’s pilot well to appraise the northern flank of the Hibiscus Field offshore Gabon delivered strong results.
