TOKYO – ConocoPhillips Australia has awarded MODEC International a front-end engineering design (FEED) contract for an FPSO for the Barossa gas/light condensate development, 300 km (186 mi) north of Darwin in Northern Australia.
MODEC will participate in the FEED in competition with a joint venture of two other contractors.
Barossa will provide a new source of gas to the Darwin LNG facility. The development concept includes subsea production system and a gas export pipeline.
Other partners in Barossa are SK E&S Australia and Santos Offshore.
