OSLO, Norway – Statoil has commissioned Aker Solutions to perform front-end engineering and design of a new topsides module at the Troll gas field in the Norwegian North Sea.
The contract includes an option for engineering, procurement, construction, and installation of the module on the Troll A platform.
This will receive and process gas from the Troll West field, which will subsequently be exported to the onshore Kollsnes plant near Bergen.
Troll, 65 km (40 mi) west of Kollsnes, contains around 40% of Norway’s proven offshore gas reserves. Production from the field is set to continue beyond 2050.
