LONDON -- Apache North Sea has contracted AMEC for a two-year project management, engineering and procurement program involving modifications to the Forties Alpha platform.
The modifications will ease the connection of Apache’s new bridge-linked Satellite Platform (FASP) to Forties Alpha, 178 km (110 mi) northeast of Aberdeen in the central UK North Sea.
Over the past five years AMEC has provided numerous other brownfield modification services to Apache across the Forties field platforms, including electrical infrastructure switchboard upgrades, a deep gas lift project, and well completions.
