ConocoPhillips lets SPS contract for Barossa offshore Australia

ConocoPhillips Australia has awarded Technip Oceania Pty Ltd. an EPC contract to supply the subsea production system and associated installation support for the offshore Barossa project.

PERTH, Australia – ConocoPhillips Australia has awarded Technip Oceania Pty Ltd. an EPC contract to supply the subsea production system (SPS) and associated installation support for the offshore Barossa project.

The Barossa gas and light condensate project is currently in the front-end engineering design (FEED) phase. Subject to commercial arrangements being agreed, Barossa will provide a new source of gas to the existing Darwin LNG facility when the current offshore gas supply from Bayu-Undan is exhausted.

The Barossa development concept includes an FPSO, SPS, and gas export pipeline in Commonwealth waters 300 km (186 mi) north of Darwin.
