SYDNEY, Australia – Preparations continue for deactivation of the Basker-Manta-Gummy oil and gas fields offshore Victoria, Australia, according to operator ROC Oil.
Recent activities for the fields in the VIC/L26, L27, and L28 concessions have included finalization of offshore deconstruct engineering; completion of contract tendering for deconstruct and well intervention activities (planned during the first half of 2012); and implementation of a monitoring and inspection program.
ROC adds that all regulatory approvals for offshore activities have been obtained and a vessel was mobilized in late 2011 to undertake removal of subsea infrastructure and other subsea facilities not required for any future field development.
