Offshore staff
LONDON– Second-phase development drilling is under way at the Solan field west of Shetland according to operator Premier Oil.
As for construction of the offshore facilities, roll up of the platform’s jacket frames has been completed and pre-commissioning is under way of the topside systems. The subsea storage tank is expected to leave Drydocks World in Dubai at the end of May, followed by sail away of the jacket and topsides in July.
Installation and heavy lifts are due to start in late July. Premier is targeting first oil in the fall.
The company expects to receive approvals soon for itsCatcher project in the UK central North Sea from its partners and Britain’s Department of Energy and Climate Change. Premier has awarded the chief service contracts for the FPSO, subsea infrastructure, and development drilling. It aims for first oil in mid-2017.
Re-development ofKyle field continues. The host Banff field FPSO is back on location following repairs, and riser installation has started that will link Kyle to the Banff facilities. The field is expected to deliver first oil in mid-year.
Offshore southernVietnam, a three-well development drilling program has begun at the Premier-operated Dua project, following a brief shutdown at the Chim Sao offshore complex to tie in the Dua control systems. First oil from Dua is set for mid-2014.
Premier’s Pelikan and Naga developments offshore Indonesia are also making progress. The platforms are currently being tied-in to the Gajah Baru facilities. Development drilling is expected to start soon followed by first gas during 2Q 2014.
