ASTRAKHAN, Russia – LUKOIL says transportation has started of the topsides for the riser block to the Vladimir Filanovsky field development in the Russian sector of the Caspian Sea.
The riser block is designed to connect the interfield and external pipelines to transport oil and gas from the field.
Support structures for allfour platforms were assembled at the offshore site last year, while the topside sections of the central processing platform and the living quarter module were transported to the field earlier this year.
Next month, transportation is expected to get under way of the ice-resistant stationary platform to be used for drilling and well operations.
This fall the company aims to have all four platform topsides and connecting bridges completed. Production at V. Filanovsky is expected to start around the turn of next year.
