STAVANGER, Norway -- Statoil has contracted Apply Sørco for topsides modification on the Gullfaks C platform in the Norwegian North Sea.
The program is related to the replacement of production pipelines for the Tordis field.
Work will include engineering, procurement, fabrication, and installation of two 10-in. (25.4-cm) pipelines with valves and instrumentation, and tie-ins to the process and utility systems on Gullfaks C. The NOK 75-million ($13.35-million) contract runs through October 2012.
Installations on Gullfaks C will be performed in two stages, with offshore work for the first pipeline set to start in August.
