PARIS – Samsung Heavy Industries has awarded Technip an engineering services contract for Statoil’s Valemon gas/condensate field development in the Norwegian North Sea.
The scope covers detailed design, procurement engineering, and follow-on engineering support for the Valemon fixed platform topsides.
Technip’s operating center in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, will manage the work, which should be completed during spring 2012.
Valemon, 160 km (99 mi) west of Bergen, is one of the largest new developments on the Norwegian shelf. The field holds recoverable reserves of around 206 MMboe.
