ABU DHABI, UAE – Qatar Petroleum has awarded Technip an engineering, procurement, installation, and commissioning contract for the FMB project.
Technip will supply a living quarter platform, utility platform, and a bridge connecting the two installations.
Topsides for both platforms will be installed via the floatover method, which allows large integrated topsides to be set down without the use of large crane vessels, minimizing offshore hook-up and commissioning.
Technip’s operating center in Abu Dhabi will execute the project, with support from divisions in Paris and Doha.
