Drydocks World to construct Johan Sverdrup piles, tanks

DUBAI, UAE – Kvaerner has contracted Drydocks World to fabricate components for the riser platform jacket for the Johan Sverdrup field in the Norwegian North Sea.

The Dubai yard will manufacture the piles and flotation tanks, including surface protection for the jacket. The tanks will be used for launching and installation of the jackets on site.

Drydocks World adds that it will comply with NORSOK safety and quality standards for the 7,000 ton-plus project.

The yard is also fabricating a 2,000-ton jacket and wellhead platform for Technip, Rashid C.
