Dec. 12, 2022
Chariot and ONHYM have agreed to certain conditions for long-term gas sales from the offshore Anchois Field development with Morocco’s Office National de l'Electricité et de l'Eau Potable.
LONDON —Chariot and Moroccan state oil and gas company ONHYM have agreed to certain conditions for long-term gas sales from the offshore Anchois Field development with Morocco’s Office National de l'Electricité et de l'Eau Potable (ONEE).
Anchois is within the Lixus license offshore western Morocco, which Chariot operates with a 75% interest in partnership with ONHYM.
Key principles of the agreement include sales of up to 600 MMcm per year (about 60 MMcf/d) on a take or pay basis for a minimum of 10 years. The gas will be delivered through the Maghreb-Europe Gas Pipeline.
This should also secure supplies for Morocco's existing and longer-term gas power plant infrastructure.
In addition, the parties confirmed a framework and timetable to conclude the gas sales agreement. They will now continue discussions with a view to concluding the binding gas sales and progress the next stage of documentation.
