LEIDSCHENDAM, the Netherlands – Heerema Marine Contractors has awarded Fugro a four-year global framework agreement. The agreement covers provision of survey and positioning support services onboard Heerema’s heavy-lift crane vessels.

Fugro will deploy technologies such as QuickVision, 3Direct and InclinoCam, along with remote services and specialist teams, to support Heerema’s offshore installation and decommissioning campaigns in Europe, the Americas, Middle East, and the APAC regions. The company’s survey geo-data and positioning service will help Heerema’s crews identify seabed structures and debris and should provide “centimeter level precision” for offshore installation projects.

According to Fugro, its real-time, touchless inspection and monitoring technology offers a safer and more efficient approach for offshore operations, while providing remote support will allow Heerema to monitor operations in real-time, speeding up decision taking as projects progress. Thijs Prins, Fugro’s service line director Marine Asset Integrity added that the vision-based technologies and remote services can “significantly reduce project complexity, accelerate turnaround times, and allow operations to be conducted in a wider weather window – critical benefits for Heerema as they complete campaigns over the next four years.”
