PERTH, Australia – BHP has issued a final update on its offshore petroleum projects prior to the integration of these activities with Woodside Energy’s operations.

Following completion of the Ruby development offshore Trinidad & Tobago, the field is now producing oil and gas.

In the US Gulf of Mexico, offshore commissioning continues for Mad Dog Phase 2, with first production expected in mid-2022.

Last month BHP filed a declaration of commerciality with the Mexico’s National Hydrocarbons Commission for the deepwater Trion field development. FEED work continues, along with studies on completion of the engineering, commercial arrangements and execution planning required in the run-up to a final investment decision later this year.
