LONDON – Corallian Energy has commissioned an environment baseline survey over the Victory gas field northwest of Shetland.
According to Reabold Resources, which has a 49.99% interest in Corallian, the program was completed earlier this week. Corallian will incorporate the results into its environmental impact assessment and draft field development plan for Victory, which it plans to submit to the UK’s Oil and Gas Authority by the end of this year.
Data acquired include side-scan sonar, multi-beam echosounder, seabed sediment samples, and video and camera stills over the proposed project sites.
Reabold considers Victory, with 2C resources of 157 bcf, as a simple, low-risk gas development with no need for additional pre-development drilling. The location is in 160 m (525 ft) water depth.
Subject to infrastructure access negotiations, development will involve a direct subsea tieback to the TotalEnergies-operated Greater Laggan Area gas pipeline, which has an access tee for third-party business 18 km (11.2 mi) south of the Victory discovery well 207/1-3.
First gas could follow in 2024, followed in 2025 by a three-year production plateau of 70 MMcf/d.
