OSLO, Norway – Equinor has received approval from Norway’s Petroleum Safety Authority to use new equipment associated with the Snorre Expansion project in the North Sea.
The consent covers use of subsea facilities, production and injection pipes, flexible risers and modifications on the Snorre A platform.
Norway’s parliament approved the plan for development and operation for the project in 2018. This involves the addition of six subsea templates, each with four wells, tied back to Snorre A, the aim being to increase recovery from the Snorre field by almost 200 MMbbl and to prolong the life of the facilities through 2040.
