ADELAIDE, Australia – Santos is working on plans for a further phase of infill drilling at the Bayu-Undan field in the Timor Sea offshore northern Australia.

The program, comprising an additional three development wells, is designed to optimize field recovery and extend field life and production at the onshore Darwin LNG complex.

Santos is targeting a final investment decision by the end of this year.

Off Western Australia, the company is assessing brownfield tieback opportunities in order to maintain gas production through the Varanus Island domestic gas hub.

FEED work is under way for the Spartan field, a one-well subsea tieback into the John Brookes infrastructure, with FID targeted for 2021.

Elsewhere in the region, the FPSO Ningaloo Vision should be delivered from the Singapore shipyard for reinstallation at the Van Gogh field early next year, followed by first oil from the phase two infill drilling project in late-2021.
