CALGARY, Canada – Construction of the Liuhua 29-1 field facilities for the Liwan gas project in the South China Sea reached the 95% mark in mid-year, according to Husky Energy.
Production is due to start by the end of 2020: Husky, which has a 75% stake in the development, is targeting peak output of 45 MMcf/d of gas and 1,800 b/d of liquids.
Offshore eastern Canada, the company’s 2Q production averaged around 19,000 b/d. Performance was impacted by the continued suspension of operations on the Suncor-operated Terra Nova FPSO (Husky 13%).
Husky has also suspended work on the West White Rose project in the same region due to COVID-19 restrictions.
