TRONDHEIM, Norway – OKEA has received approval from Norway’s Petroleum Safety Authority (PSA) for modifications associated with a long-term power project at the Draugen field complex in the Norwegian Sea.
The Draugen platform currently uses mostly gas to run turbines to generate electricity and for water injection.
Once the power project, which includes topsides and subsea modifications at Draugen, is complete, it will be possible to also use imported gas from the Åsgard Transport System through Draugen gas export mixed with export gas as fuel on board the platform.
