Offshore staff
WEST PERTH, Australia – Carnarvon Petroleum has issued a progress update on the Dorado field development in the Bedout basin offshore Western Australia, operated by Santos.
The proposed offshore facilities include an FPSO and a wellhead platform.
Three contractors are working on pre-front-end engineering design (pre-FEED) for the FPSO, working independently to advance their individual designs and mature their vessel construction plans and supply terms.
Later this year, at the end of the pre-FEED phase, one contractor will be selected to start the formal FEED work.
The Dorado partners have received expressions of interest from various companies for the fixed wellhead platform that will support the production and ancillary wells and which will connect to and supply the FPSO.
Some of these companies will shortly be invited to tender for all or parts of the platform work including engineering and design, fabrication of jacket and topsides, and transport/installation to the field.
Preparation of the field development and offshore project plans are also progressing on schedule toward a potential final investment decision in 2021.
