ADELAIDE, Australia – Santos expects its Dorado project in the Bedout basin offshore Western Australia to enter the FEED phase during 3Q.
A competitive pre-FEED process is currently under way involving FPSO contractors. Santos is assessing opportunities to both lease and purchase an FPSO.
In addition, the company has received expressions of interest for Dorado’s wellhead platform. It is targeting a final investment decision on the project in 2021, subject to business conditions.
Santos’ Ningaloo Vision FPSO, serving Van Gogh and other oil fields in the Exmouth sub-basin, was shut-in at the end of March ahead of planned shipyard maintenance in April.
Work continues on the Van Gogh infill Phase 2 project with three dual lateral wells targeting undrained parts of the field. First oil is expected to follow in late 2021.
