ABERDEEN, UKSeaTwirl, a Swedish developer of floating offshore wind technology, has signed a memorandum of understanding with UK-based seabed energy management/storage specialist Verlume.

They plan to identify and pursue opportunities on decarbonization of offshore oil and gas facilities via electrification and other associated offshore applications.

Their goal is to combine their technologies to provide tailored solutions to offshore operators.

Verlume CEO Richard Knox said, “We have designed our subsea energy storage systems to be agnostic to any renewable power input and we believe that through integration with SeaTwirl’s unique floating wind power technology, we will jointly be able to provide large capacity systems for clean power delivery across a range of assets and use cases in the subsea environment.”
